Doris Jean Wilson

Mrs. Doris Jean Wilson, age 91 of Kennedy, passed away September 23, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 26, 2025 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kennedy City Cemetery. Bro. Alan Magouirk and Bro. Ed Nabors will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-3 P.M. at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Wallace "Doc", Fess, Tess, J.C., Buster, and Homan Wright, sisters: Loreda Pennington, Effie Lee Jones, Edna Jones, Dorothy Burgess, Polly Crumbley, and Etta Wright.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years: Lynn Wilson, sons: David Wilson (Cathy) and Terry Wilson, sister-in-law: Jessie Wright, 4 grandchildren: Alan Wilson (Holly), Andy Wilson, Rebecca Kelley (Trey), Hunter Wilson (Mackenzie), and 4 great-grandchildren: Alex and Lincoln Wilson, Noah and Avie Kelley.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Southern Beacon Hospice employees.

Active pallbearers will be: Ricky Carroll, Charlie Johnson, Fred Ray Savage, Mickey Watkins, John Lynn Prater, and Tony Mordecai.
