Doris Jane Smith

Mrs. Doris Jane Smith, age 84 of Fayette, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-3 P.M. at the funeral home. 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ellis and Dorsie Trimm, husband: Ned Smith, and brother: Henry Trimm. 

Survivors include two daughters: Kim Atkinson (Larry) of Winfield, Kelly Woodard of Fayette, brother: Herbert Trimm (Frenchie) of Tuscaloosa, sisters: Margaret Taylor (Thurman) of Tuscaloosa, and Ruth Roberts (Mike) of Huntsville, four grandchildren: Jordan and Isaac Atkinson, Lindsey Colley (Jason), and Nolan Woodard, nine great-grandchildren: Hadassah, Rahab, Micaiah, Hosea, Job, Amos, Phineas, Ruth, and Theodore.
