Donna Killion Obituary

Donna Newton Killion, age 92, joined her husband, parents, sisters and brothers in Eternal Life on August 10, 2025.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Jacalynn of Fayette, son Andrew (Sabina) of California, and daughter Patricia (Burt) of Texas.

She is also survived by granddaughters Sarah, April, Rachel (Steven), Devon and McKenna, as well as great-grandchildren Brian, Harley, Kyrie and Mila.

Preceding her in death were her husband of nearly 70 years, Jack Killion, parents Donald and Eulene Newton, sisters Joanne and Pat, brothers Gary and Ned, niece Marilynn and grandson-in-law Stephen.

Having lived away much of her life, Donna returned to Fayette nearly 30 years ago, living in the family home she left when she joined the U.S. Air Force as a WAF serving in California during the Korean conflict.

She met and married her husband Jack upon his return to California from active duty in Korea.

Her years as a LPN at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas prepared her to serve as a caregiver to her family when she moved back to Fayette to help tend to her aging father. She then lovingly attended to her brother, Ned, until his passing.

As Rehobeth Baptist Church was her family church, upon her return to Fayette, she resumed an active membership there and taught Sunday School until her health declined.

Donna loved her family, her home and yardwork and the legion of pets that were her companions through the years.

In her last years at Generations in Vernon, she was attended by a host of caring staff, including Jane, Carol, Hannah an so many more.

Though her memory was leaving ahead of her spirit, Donna loved time with her family, and especially enjoyed the hours of domino games played with them and the private piano concerts played for her by her granddaughters.
