David Grayson Obituary

Mr. David Grayson, age 75 of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Troy Lee Grayson, Sr. and Mattie Smith Grayson, and a brother: Troy Lee Grayson, Jr.

Survivors include his wife: Rita Boyett Grayson of Fayette, two daughters: Jessica Warren Grayson (Gregory Keith Ikner) of Vestavia Hills, Katie Grayson Hackney (Robert) of Tuscaloosa, brother: John Randall Grayson of Huntsville, sisters: Jan Grayson Herman  of Alexandria, VA, and Wanda Grayson Price of Sulligent, and three grandchildren: Warren Jett Ikner, William Jones Ikner, and David Owen Ikner.

Mr. Grayson was born at home November 10, 1948 in Aliceville, AL. He graduated from Aliceville in 1967 and played football at UA where he graduated with a degree in business. He met his future wife the 1st weekend in March 1974 and they were married on November 23, 1974. He went on to graduate from Pharmacy School at Auburn University. He was a father to two daughters in 1983 and 1987 and a grandfather to 3 grandsons in 2017, 2021, and 2023.

Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Herring Sr., Steve Havard, Tony Tillman, Glen Woodruff, and Dennis Windle.
