Clyde Danny Price of Fayette, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 at Morning View Assisted Living in Fayette. He was 91 years old.
Danny grew up in Brookwood, AL where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Charlotte Faye Hallman. After their marriage, Danny and Faye moved to Tuscaloosa where Danny began working at R.L. Zeigler at the age of 19. While in Tuscaloosa, they had three children, Christy, Dan & Clay. When Danny was promoted to salesman, the family moved to Fayette to be closer to his sales territory.
Danny worked at R. L. Zeigler for 64 years, retiring at age 83. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication, the relationships he built and the changes he saw throughout his career. It was often said that “Danny always took care of his customers.”
Danny grew up loving sports and the outdoors. He was a standout athlete in high school, lettering in football, baseball and basketball. He loved to hunt and fish, sharing this passion with many friends and family members. He especially liked spending time outside with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ganus and Louise Price of Brookwood, and daughter Christy Dawn Ballard of Fayette. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Faye Price: his son Dan (Reta) of Vernon and son Clay (Julie) of Auburn; eight grandchildren, Jamie Ballard, Jenifer Elmore, Matthew Price, Brian Price, William Price, Mark Price, Caroline Hankins, and Elizabeth Thompson; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 at Nelson Funeral Home in Fayette. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alabama Wildlife Federation
