Danny Herron

Mr. John Daniel Herron, better known as Danny, passed from this earth on July 3, 2026.

He was born May 10, 1953 and was a life long resident of Fayette. He worked for R&D Maintenance until retirement. Danny belonged to the Fayette County Pulling Association-Syrup City Pullers and Garden Tractor Club where he enjoyed competing with his little garden tractors. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church and helped build ramps for the disabled. He loved gardening and was willing to help anyone when needed. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Bro. Wil Corbett will officiate.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Nelda Hankins Herron of Fayette, son: Jerry Daniel Herron (Diann) of Fayette, daughter: Tammy Michelle Herron of Lawrenceville, Georgia, sister: Vera Lassetter of Fayette, and 2 grandchildren: Oakley and Harley.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Loyd and Iola Jenkins Herron.

Honorary pallbearers are: Members of Pullers and Garden Tractor Club and members of McDonalds morning coffee club.

Pallbearers will be: Josh Ham, Dewayne Hubbert, Tim Ham, Brent Mayfield, Albert Bell, and Justin Franklin.
