Cynthia Potts Tittle Obituary

Cynthia Tittle, beloved mother, grandmother, and educator, age 64, passed away
peacefully at Hospice of West Alabama on October 24, 2025 surrounded by loved ones.
A woman of strength and grace, she faced life’s challenges with resilience, having been
widowed twice yet never losing her warmth or compassion.

She is preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her three children, Andy
Potts, her second husband, Waylon Tittle of Lynn, Alabama, her mother, Kathleen
Kimbrell, father, Cecil Kimbrell, brother, Jonathan Kimbrell and her eldest son, Aaron
Andrew Potts.

Cynthia was the devoted mother of two living adult children, Mary Jean Potts Darden
and Adam Keith Potts. Adam is married to Jennifer Potts and Mary is married to Jon
Darden. She had one grandchild - the apple of her eye, Renee Darden.
Cynthia is also survived by her brothers, Robert Kimbrell (Carol) and Jason Kimbrell,
sister Anita Kimbrell Hamlett (Casey) and a host of nephews, nieces and other extended
family who adored her. Her family was her greatest joy.

Cynthia dedicated her life to others, specifically to education, teaching for many years
and then continuing to share her gifts after her retirement as a substitute teacher at The
University of Alabama’s Children’s Program. With her servant’s heart, Cynthia was in
her “happy place” rocking babies, pushing toddlers on the swings or even working in the
kitchen. Her passion for learning never waned—she had recently returned to school to
study Christian counseling, hoping to use her experiences to help others navigate life’s
challenges.

Music was another constant in her life. A talented pianist, she filled her home with
melodies and often played at the Capstone Village and various churches - always
willing to bring comfort and joy to others through her personal gifts.

Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She lived with deep devotion, finding
strength and purpose in her relationship with God and sharing that faith through her
actions and words. Throughout her life, she frequently taught, through speeches and in
writing, about the love of Jesus and how God had guided her through many hardships in
life. She served others without fanfare and silently supported friends and loved ones
through struggles without the need for praise or recognition.

Known for her kindness, encouraging nature and unwavering support for family and
friends, Cynthia saw the best in others, and nothing made her happier than to be
surrounded by friends and family around a big table. She strived to create a home filled
with harmony and positivity. She knew she served a Creator who did not judge his
creations by their circumstances, and she too urged each of us to run with
perseverance in our own race without comparison to others. She leaves behind a
legacy of resilience, faith, and love that will live on in the hearts of her family and all who
knew her.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday,  October 26, 2025 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel,  Fayette Alabama. Burial will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church (Gumbud) Cemetery.
