Christine Howell

Christine Howell, age 100 of Fayette, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025 at Morning View Estates. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at 6-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home. 
She was born on May 18, 1925 in Booneville, Mississippi to Roy Lee and Effie Setliff.  She eloped and married the love of her life, Arnie, in September of 1942 and they lived a beautiful life of 68 years together.
She was the beloved mother of Ronny Howell and Donna (Wayne) Nichols, proud grandmother of Jason (Christi) Nelson, Shannon (Bret) Ballard, Ronny (Shannon) Howell, Kristina (Drew) Battle, Natalie (Darrell) Thomas, and Josh (Sarah) Howell, great grandmother to Sydney (Andrew) Hillis, Emma Howell, Mack Nelson, Taylor (Nolan) Trice, Jonathan (Ally) Thomas, Bailey Thomas, Krissa Ballard, Carl Ballard, Chanse Ballard, Chase Ballard, Kingston Robertson, Hayden Howell, Silas Howell, Elsie Jo Howell, and Hudson Howell.  She also has four great-great grandchildren, Mary Katherine Davis, Banks Porter, Oakley Trice, Samuel Hillis, and Kennedy Thomas. 
In addition, she loved her ”second daughter” Mary Ann Dillard and “second son” Jimmy Campbell, as well as many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. She was Nana to everyone.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arnie, her parents, three brothers, one sister, and a grandson, Jeremy Howell.
Pallbearers are Jason Nelson, Ronny Howell, Josh Howell, Drew Battle, Darrell Thomas, Bret Ballard, Jonathan Thomas, Nolan Trice, Andrew Hillis, and Jimmy Campbell.
Honorary Pallbearers: Dorothy Cannon, Lisa Tingle, Dr. Martha Jo Christian, and the nurses and staff of Morning View Estates.
