Charles "Ray" Christian

Mr. Charles "Ray" Christian, age 73 of Nauvoo, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 12-Noon from Alta Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 - 12:00 P.M. at the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Reba Christian, brother: Larry Christian, sister: Janice Brogdon, and late wife: Shannon Christian. 

Survivors include his wife: Vicki Atkins Christian of Nauvoo, son: Douglas Trotter (Elizabeth) of Nauvoo, daughters: Christina Brasher (Brandon) of Berry, Tonya Milligan (Eric) of Berry, Tammie Christian of Fayette, brother: Bobby Darrell Christian of Berry, sisters: Judy Nuckols, and Hollie Brand (Robert) both of Berry, fifteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. 

Ray was born in Illinois on January 15, 1952. He was first and foremost a man of God, he served his country, loved his family and was a hard worker. Ray was a dedicated father to his three daughters, raising them after his late wife's death. He married Vicki in 1999 loving her until he passed. Heaven was his goal and as the apostle Paul said "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing" 2 Timothy 4:7,8.

Honorary pallbearers are his great-grandchildren. 

Active pallbearers will be: Devan Tyree, Blake Tyree, Steven Tyree, Ethan Trotter, Devan Jones, Drew Self, Brady Renfroe, Liam Trotter, and Douglas Trotter.
