Carolyn Jones

Carolyn Ann Johnston Jones, age 77, of Fayette, Alabama passed away at DCH Regional Medical Center on January 12, 2021. She was born in Winfield, Alabama on October 9, 1943 to Joseph Henry, Jr and Lanelle Sanderson Johnston.

Carolyn was a 1961 graduate of Fayette County High School. She attended college at Bevill State Community College in Fayette. She worked at Fayette Cotton Mill where she retired as the Payroll and Inventory Clerk when the mill closed. She was a member of Fayette First Baptist Church for many years.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband John T. Jones, Jr; parents, Joseph Henry Johnston, Jr and Lanelle Sanderson Howton; her step-father Buster Howton; one grandchild, Cody Michael Jones.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons, Scott Jones and wife Beth of Gallion, AL; Kevin Jones and wife Cathy of Fayette, AL; three grandchildren, Dianna Lynn Jones of Calhoun, GA, Samantha Jones Allen (Austin) and Kaitlyn Jones of Fayette; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Marchman, Brianna Marchman, and Blake Marchman of Samantha, AL, and Easton Allen of Fayette; brothers David Howton, DVM (Gina) of Wynnsboro, TX and Charles Howton (Carla) of Auburn, AL; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30pm on January 16, 2021 at Sand Springs Cemetery in Hubbertville, AL. Bro. Scott Davis will officiate. Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette will be in charge of arrangements.
