Brownie Burkett

Mrs. Brownie Burkett, age 80 of Bankston, passed away June 6, 2022 at Walker Rehab Center in Carbon Hill.

Survivors include her husband: Edward O'Neal Burkett of Bankston, two sons: Stoney Burkett (Karen) of Fayette, Shea D. Burkett (Angel of Bankston, brothers: Linton Fowler, Loyal Fowler, Pete Fowler, sisters: Allie Mae Ward, Mildred Owens, 4 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents: William Thomas Fowler and Alcie Otho Sprinkle Fowler.

Mrs. Burkett was a bus driver for Hubbertville School for 25 years, a seamstress and Sunday School teacher at New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church, where she was a member until her disease of Alzheimer's kept her from attending. She was a wonderful wife for 62 years, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home. Bro. Junior Estes will officiate.
