Brittany Gilmer Brown

Mrs. Brittany Gilmer Brown, age 35 of Northport, passed away April 5, 2025 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 6-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.

Brittany Gilmer Brown was born on October 16 of 1989 to Tommy Gilmer and Laura Gann in Winfield, AL. Brittany grew up in Winfield before moving to Fayette. There, she met her husband of 12 years, Stephen Brown (married in 2013). Stephen and Brittany lead an exciting life together, meeting many wonderful friends for life. In October of 2015, Brittany gave birth to their beautiful son, Karsyn Uriah Brown. Karsyn was and is Brittany’s legacy here on Earth. She was a dedicated stay at home mom, and also spent time as a groomer’s assistant at Nellie Mae & Co. Brittany loved spending time with her family and friends, shopping, good food, long conversations full of laughs, and traveling. Brittany was an inspiration to every one she met, somehow able to keep a smile on her face despite the many challenges that she faced. She fought the hardest fight, and did so with her most important allies by her side: her family and friends. Brittany was selfless, and would do anything she could to make someone else’s life a little better. 

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jack Kellerman, and her paternal grandfather, Kenneth Gilmer.

Survivors include her husband: Stephen Brown of Northport,  son: Karsyn Brown of Northport,  parents, Tommy Gilmer (Jamie) of Winfield, Laura Gann of Fairhope, sister: Andrea Miller (Zach)of Northport, brothers: Austin Price (Kaitlyn) and Garrett Price, both of Winfield, grandparents: Barbara Kellerman of Northport, Peggy Gilmer of Winfield, nieces and nephews: Mason Miller, Henry Price, Tillie Price, Andrew Smith, Karly Smith, Tyler Smith, Haley Dunn, and Jewel Tucker.
