Bill Dunn

Mr. Bill Dunn, age 87 of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 28, 2023 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fayette Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-2 P.M. at the funeral home. Bro. David Wilson and Bro. Terry Flummer will officiate.

Mr. Dunn was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He resided in Fayette County, Bankkston, AL for 64-1/2 years. He attended and was a member of The Church of the Nazarene in Fayette for 32 years. He attended El Bethel Independent Baptist Church intil his health declined and he could no longer attend.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Florence Simpson Dunn, brothers: PFC. Samuel Vernon Dunn, and William Edley Dunn, Jr., sister: Fannie Mitchell (Frankie), nephew: Michael "Mike" Mitchell, and niece: Patricia "Patty" Friend.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years: Shirley Powell Dunn of Bankston, two sons: Billy R. Dunn, Jr. (Darlyne) of Fayette, and Micah W. Dunn (Vonda) of TN, four grandchildren: Mason Dunn (Jenny) of Northport, Lauren Dunn, Noah Dunn, and Jackson Dunn all of TN, and one great-grandchild: Wesley Dunn of Northport.

Honorary pallbearers will bw: Amedisys Hospice.

Active pallbearers will be: Mason Dunn, Noah Dunn, Jackson Dunn, Lee Dunn, Buster Powell, MJ Powell, and Sam Mitchell.
