She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years - William Carroll Otts, parents: Delmer and Nancy Enis Cook, brothers: Paul Cook and Rodney Cook, sisters: Charlotte Cook, Faye Lowery, Brenda Fowler and Genine Fowler.
Survivors include her daughter- Pam Otts Russell (David) and brother - Wayne Cook (Shirley), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Fayette First Methodist Church and served on several committees, including the altar guild.
She was also a member of the auxiliary at Fayette DCH and volunteered in the Gift Shop and loved every minute of it, especially when she could help others!
She loved sewing - whether it was a piece of clothing, a beautiful drapery or a nice cushion - it was always perfect. She wouldn’t have it any other way! She was also a creative artist when it came to needlework! There wasn’t a single cross-stitch pattern that she wouldn’t tackle. One of her favorite hobbies was listening to music, especially Southern Gospel Music and Elvis! If her favorite group (The Inspirations) was near, she made every effort to attend! Another passion was her yard. Even last year, she maintained her own yard - yes, even driving the riding lawnmower and spreading mulch!
Always quick to be supportive or serve as a hostess of family and friends, she was a blessing to all who knew her!
Honorary pallbearers are: Dr. Martha Jo Christian, Morningview Estates staff and Hospice of Alabama.
Active pallbearers will be: Carlton Fowler, Kevin Armstrong, Derrick Sims, Ken Fields, William Fields and David Russell.
