Barbara F. Zeigler

Barbara F. Zeigler, 74, of Fayette, passed away Saturday, December 3rd 2022, peacefully at home in the community of Belk. Visitation will be held Saturday December 10th, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Nelson’s Funeral Home in Fayette.  A graveside service will follow at Lamar Memory Garden, in Vernon, Alabama.  

Barbara was born June 10th, 1948 in Sulligent, Alabama, to Lloyd and Stella (Harris) Barnes.  She graduated from Rock Island High School, Rock Island, Illinois and went on to marry the love of her life, John H. Zeigler.  They returned to Alabama and Barbara attended school to become a Cosmetologist. She successfully owned and operated His and Hers Hair Salon in Fayette for many years.  

Barbara will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved her. She will be especially remembered for her love of Alabama Football, love of her forrest critters, her devotion to her neurotic cats, and above all, for her deep abiding love of family.  

Survivors include her niece, Patricia (Matthew) Baker, Grey Forest, TX, her grand-nephews, Chandler (Meredith) Baker and their two children Harper Grace and Thatcher Grant Baker, Grey Forest, TX, Schyler Baker, Helotes, TX, Kessler Baker, Grey Forest, TX, and her grand-niece, Wyndser Baker, Grey Forest TX.  She is also survived by her niece Theresa Moore of Toney, AL and stepson Steve Zeigler of Valdosta, GA.  

Barb leaves behind many close relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. They will endeavor to always cherish and keep her memory alive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Betty Gartin.
