Mrs. Ruth Mauney, age 95 of Bankston, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at 3-P.M. from Bankston Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bankston Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-3 P.M. at the church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: James Clarence Swindle, and Joseph Worlick Mauney, daughter: Cathy Lynn Williams, grandson: Jimmy Ray Swindle, sisters: Myrtle Lee Parr Watkins, Icie Mae Parr Logan, Mary Helen Parr Meuler, Mildred Lois "Micki" Parr Pritcheyy, Marie Parr Beckman, brother: Rev. Jerry Wayne Parr, half-sister: Judy Faye Parr Walker.
Survivors include her daughters: Earlene Mounger and Doris Ann Freeman both of Bankston, brother: Ray Cecil Parr of Brewton, AL, half sisters: Patty Elmore of Fayette, and Bunny Kizzire of Berry, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Alma Ruth was born during the great depression. She lived a long beautiful life, with many achievements and hobbies. Ruth was passionate about gardening, sewing and quilt making, playing and writing music, raising and caring for animals and her farm as well as traveling, dancing, and fishing. She loved her family dearly and devoted herself to her community and church. She will be truly missed.
