Vernon Odes Stevens

Mr. Vernon Odes Stevens, age 86, of Centreville passed away Monday April 8, 2019 at Hospice of West Alabama.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 4-P.M. from Spencer Church of the Nazarene in Brent. Burial will follow in Salem Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3-4 P.M. at the church. Pastor Steve Vernon will officiate.

Survivors include his wife: Jean H. Stevens of Centreville, two sons: Marvin (Janet) Stevens of Centreville, Mark (Fay) Stevens of Tuscaloosa, one sister: Mary Ellen (Searcy) Averett of Greensboro, one granddaughter: Ashley Ann Buzbee, and two great-grandchildren: Audrey Reese Buzbee and Connor Reed Buzbee.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Vernon Stevens and Estelle Colburn Stevens, and siblings: Bertha S. Fisher, Robert Stevens, Hazel S. Massey, Sue S. Elam, Sam Stevens, and Ester Stevens.

Active pallbearers will be: Sammy Stevens, Brad Crawford, David Buzbee, Alan Elam, Alan Smitherman, Wes Pierson, Paul Thompson, and Lee Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Wayne and Rita Holifield, Fay Johnson, Travis and Pearline, Alton and Deborah Cook, Ross and Lisa Elam, Christina and Stewart Dellinger, Margie and Ken, Estelle and Alfred, Kay Pierson, Alan Darden, Donna House, Mickey Sherbett, Billy Thompson, and Carolyn Giest.
