Steve Carroll

Mr. Steve Carroll, age 71 of Fayette, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pisgah-Chapel Hill Cemetery. Bro. Josh Musgrove and Bro. Casey Watkins will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Carroll was a lifetime resident of Fayette, and a 1965 graduate of Fayette County High School. He had his first heart transplant on Valentines Day in 1992 and his second on August 19, 2007.

Survivors include his wife: Kathy Wright Carroll of Fayette, two daughters: Stacie (Stacy) Thornton of Northport and Kacie (Matthew) Stanley of Fayette, brother: Marion "Buddy" (Maxine) Carroll of Fayette, sister: Cynthia Carroll Atkins of Cordova, and three grandchildren: Vandin Thornton, Byren Stanley, and Claire Stanley.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Acie and Frances Carroll, and one brother: Robert W. "Bobby" Carroll.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Larry Dean Hubbert, Brooks Wilson, Jerry Kuykendall, Mackey Watkins, Sherman Woods, Stanley Beavers, Bert Meherg, Roy Sanderson, Carl Porter, Little Ralph Renfroe, Class of 1965, Medical Staff at UAB, Alacare Hospice, Alacare Home Health, Times of the Past Cruise In friends, and Dr. Robert Bourge.

Active pallbearers will be: Randall Carroll, Ralph Carroll, Ricky Carroll, Roger Carroll, Phillip Carroll, and Macky Hubbert.
