Rose Whitson

Mrs. Rose Whitson, age 70 of Bankston, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11-A.M. from Nelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10-12 at the funeral home. Bro. Adam Smith will officiate.

Survivors include her husband: Milford Whitson of Bankston, son: Brad (Christie) Whitson of Cantonment, FL, daughter: Faith (Delbert) Vice of Berry, brother: David (Bobbie) Sanford of Tuscaloosa, sisters: Pat (John t.) White of Bankston, Janice (Terrell) Files of Berry, four grandchildren: Brittanie (Bill) Drapo of Belk, Tori (Wesley) Parson of Berry, Chesney Whitson and Tristan Whitson, both of Cantonment, FL, and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Charlie Sanford and Rose Joyce Skipper Sanford, sisters: Sarah Harper and Linda Thornton, brothers: James Sanford and Tim Sanford.

Rose was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She was an active member of New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. She will be missed dearly by all of her loved ones.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Tristan Whitson, Benjamine Drapo, Steven Vice, and Travis White.

Active pallbearers will be: Wesley Parson, Bill Drapo, Cody Vice, Michael McConnell, Michael Selman, and John Files.
