Mr. Norman C. Sutton, age 75 of Berry, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 2 P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Boone Cemetery . The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife: Charlotte Sutton of Berry, his son Shawn Sutton (Andrea) of Fayette, daughters: Michelle Campbell, Carla Boyd, Leann Sellers and Lori Gonnering, all of Berry, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Jo Sutton, his father Norman E. Sutton and a grandson Blake McKinney.
Honorary pallbearers are: Co-workers at Drummond Coal, players and coaches from Brookwood, and West Blocton High School, and friends and neighbors of the Northside Community.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Taylor, Brylan Taylor, Taylor Boyd, Tyler Sellers, Mason Hughes, Sam Hughes, Bryant Campbell and Gage Gonnering.
Norman touched many lives, not just those of his family and friends, but also the many lives he influenced as a high school football coach. He never saw the bad in anyone, just the promise of their betterment by loving them and pushing them to be the best they could be. All that know coach, know him to be the most kind and thoughtful man to anyone, even complete strangers. He felt that everyone needed a chance. He loved his family unconditionally ans sacrificed so we could have a good life.
