Floy Smith

Mrs. Floy Smith, age 83 of the New Lexington Community, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Hospice of West Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Survivors include one son: Ronnie Smith (Bobbie) of New Lexington, daughter: Sheila Maddox Nelson (Art) of Echola, brother: Ray Strickland (Linda) of Phoenix, AZ, two sisters: Bonnie Harkey of Northport and Sharon Stringfellow (Bill) of Tuscaloosa, five grandchildren: Shane Smith (Misty), Kelly Clark (Jason), Kyle Maddox (Kylie), Corey Maddox (Jessica), and Lynsie Smith, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: W.B. Smith, two sisters: Kathleen Gilbert and Sidna Smalley, and brother: Justin Strickland.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 7, 2019 at 3-P.M. from New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Max Stripling, Ed Steelman, and Brad Hartsfield will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday from 2-3 P.M. at the church.

Honorary pallbearers will be: New Hope Baptist Church family and family and friends in the New Lexington Community.

Active pallbearers will be: Shane Smith, Kyle Maddox, Corey Maddox, Jason Clark, Dennis Harkey, Brent Smalley, Darrell Smalley, and Bill Stringfellow.
