Clayburn Brasher

Mr. Clayburn Brasher, age 88 of Fayette, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Fayette Long Term Care. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 3-P.M. from Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-3 P.M. at the funeral home. Bro. T.B. Stringfellow officiating.  Born in Fayette, Alabama, on October 1, 1929, he remained in Fayette throughout his lifetime. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the time of the Korean War and was employed for greater than 30 years and retired from Fruit of the Loom textiles in Winfield, Alabama. Clayburn is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Fowler Brasher, his daughter, Linda Brasher Whelan and husband Tim Whelan, grandsons, Jeffrey Daniel Brasher, Clay Thomas Whelan, and Benjamin Chase Whelan, as well as great-grandchildren, Lara Beth Brasher, Malcolm Daniel "Mac" Brasher, Robert Randolph "Bo" Brasher, and sister, Aline Brasherand several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Shelton and Zora (Nichols) Brasher, son, Larry Edwin Brasher, brothers Travis Brasher, Rayburn Brasher, S.A. Brasher, Willard Brasher, and sister, Azilee Brasher Davis.
