Carol Crawford Obituary

Mrs. Carol Crawford, age 70 of Fayette, passed away March 3, 2018 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
   Survivors include her husband: David Crawford, three daughters: Stacie Rice (Gerald), Dana Gilliam (Scott), and Becky Colburn (Ronnie), two sisters: Brenda Hayworth and Sue Ledbetter (Chris), brother: Terry Long (Carol), grandchildren: Brandon Gilliam (Jenny), Kelsey Greenfield (Justin), Michael Gilliam (Amber), Jacob Rice (Samantha), Brooke Rice, Emma Rice, Joel Rice, Madison Colburn, and Karrah Colburn, great-grandchildren: Amelia and Isabella Greenfield, and Weston Rice.
   She was preceded in death by her parents: Thelton and Thelma Long, and granddaughter: Jordan Rice.
   On March 3, 2018 the most precious earthly treasure we had closed her eyes and opened them in heaven. Our hearts are overwhelmed with the huge void that she filled in each and everyone of our lives. She was a faithful, devoted wife who for the last 51 years loved her husband unconditionally. She was an unselfish mother who gave of her love, time and compassion without end. She was a “maw-maw” who cherished her grandbabies and spoiled them beyond belief. She was a sister who was always there when you needed her. She was a neighbor anyone would have loved to have. She was a Christian whom the Lord welcomed home.
   Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 11-A.M. from New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. Bro. Ed Steeleman and Bro. Brad Hartselle will officiate.The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
   Honorary pallbearers will be: Loyal Watson, Terry and Sheila Grammar, Bro. Max and Elaine Stripling, and the New Hope Church Community.
   Active pallbearers will be: Brandon Gilliam, Michael Gilliam, Jacob Rice, Joel Rice, Justin Greenfield, Tim Long, and David Hayworth.
