Doyle Nelson

Mr. Doyle Nelson, age 79 of Fayette, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Fayette Long Term Care.

Graveside service will be held Saturday at 3-P.M. from Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Bro. Stan Willis will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Estes and Lorene Nelson, brothers: Max, Banks, Dwight, Tony, and James Nelson, and a sister: Mary Kate Miller.

Survivors include two special nieces: Dana Hill and Tina Hill, brothers: Ned Nelson, Robert Nelson (DonReita), Jackey Nelson (Brenda) all of Fayette, and Jerry Nelson (Rhonda) of Crestview, FL, sisters: Sandra Lowery of Russellville, and Nona Sullivan (Mike) of Winfield, and several nieces and nephews. 

Doyle "Whitey" Nelson grew up in the Mt. Pleasant community and stayed there until he moved to the nursing home after a stroke. He spent 22 years in the nursing home. His life consist of working the garden, and numerous hours of farming. Doyle's love was family, taking care of his parents, and spending time with friends. Catching and cooking fish and hunting was a favorite pass time. He loved his life in the nursing home, meeting new people and his friends and family that came to visit. Heaven will be a new adventure for "Whitey", one that he will look forward to a new body.      

Honorary pallbearers are: Fayette Medical Center Long Term Care, Tugboat Hubbert and Johnny Hubbert.

Active pallbearers will be: Tim Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Jason Nelson, Ray Hill, Jr., and Anthony Nelson.
